When an inhabitant of Alterra sleeps, he/she dreams...
These dreams take place in specific parts of dormerus...
People of dormerus know this... but don't really care... To them your just see through visitors that can't do much to them... They can't do anything either...
Some interact with the dreamer, to see how he/she responds
Some dream elements are just part of the visitors imagination...
The exception's are dreamlords, they can make any element of a dream real... Ex:
The intro to Silva: TChao was sleeping under a tree on the way to the ruins. He dreamt he was skydiving with sone friends (the people of dormerus) they told TChao to jump. (visitors can't take any real damage in dormerus) as TChao was falling, the sky turned dark and the clouds grey...(actually happened in Dormerrus) a great White Dragon strikes TChao in the Chest (this actually does damage) TChao morphs into dragon mode and counters while they plummet... When they hit the ground they both go normal for a moment before TChao awakes. They last thing TChao here's is "my name is Silva, and I will return" Soon after TChao meets Silva (the innocent looking one). Learning of his new friends memory loss, he let's him tag along.
------- Dormerus is a nice place, it is also the oldest location in ZINC history... In fact... It is older than ZINC itself!

Dormerus takes up the other half of the continent that Chaosia and such sit on.
It has many layers of enchantments. Spirits of the dead pretty much walk free there (spirits of the inhabitants) though most stay to the north...
The atmosphere is Mostly overcast, not because of clouds, but because of the enchantments.
Humans weren't always the main inhabitants (SPOILER: Silva was one of the first humans his story was told in my 2006 series: dreamland, he was a bad guy who worked for a demon. Silva was, in a sense, Reala)
Positive beings
stick men: mostly miners, they live in forests mines and barren plains. (Ninja Stickman is a member of this race)
Puppeteers: Living masks without bodies, can take control of any vessel, but prefer nonliving things. Special puppeteer artisans make large wooden bodies for their race.
Gnomes: they are short. spirits hate them. They like valuable objects, and make great traders.
Elves: forest folk. Trustworthy. Territorial.
Nymphs: water dwellers...
Sprites: flighty and unfocused, but helpful
Faeries: beautiful, shy, extremely helpful.
Negative beings (in order to their opposite)
Shadow beings: beings of pure shadow. The stronger the light the bigger the shadow.
No face: take over wild animals, making them into godlike beasts
Goblins: you should already have experience with these. They are surprisingly well organised.
Blichs: pretty much vampires, but born that way. Not a segment of human DNA
Mermaids: DO NOT listen to them. there is not a grape scratch and sniff sticker at the bottom of the lake... it's orange
Pixies: pranksters, anything from woopie cushons to a brocken collarbone.
Imps: they will do more serious pranks, though sometimes hepful. There goal is not your missery, but there amusement. (yes I'm thinking faeries, but I want to have good faeries too.)
Many, many more creatures...
